Hi All,
This post is not directly linked to H817 or the MOOC - but before the MOOC finishes I wanted to cast the net and see if anyone has any inputs or advice re OERs and Tools for K-12 learners of English, Maths and Science.
I'm involved in trying to improve access to learning for excluded learners - poor communities, refugees. Some of these communities can access the internet in community centres etc but they often have no teachers to guide them. They have abundant energy and motivation however, and can gain a lot by being pointed in the right direction.
See below - I list some of the areas I'm trying to find more resources for, plus the resources I currently find useful, let me know if you have any other suggestions!

Academy. www.khanacademy.org . Short
videos on many different topics that learners can watch in their own time and
then the teacher can faciliate follow-on consolidation activities in class.
· Tools
for making/adapting materials.
What are the best tools for making / adapting / reusing learning materials?
o
E.g. I use Puzzlemaker to make wordsearches, crosswords for my students,
plus they can make their own. http://www.discoveryeducation.com/free-puzzlemaker/?CFID=2059661&CFTOKEN=19678863
